Directors Newsletter #30-17, April 16

           

Hello Subscribers,

            Students need to wrap up their spring spaghetti dinner ticket sales and turn in money and unsold tickets to the director’s office safe.  We will host the Spring Spaghetti Dinner fund raiser on Tuesday, April 24th beginning at 5 p.m. at the BHS Cafeteria. We will showcase performances from Stinson/Garcia Bands and the Brandeis Marching Band.  The schedule of performance is posted on the weekly band schedule.  Students are to wear jeans, band shirt, and orange chucks for the performance.  Each student should have sold their tickets and should turn in $35 on Monday.  The Spaghetti Dinner will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Boosters will have a dessert table, spirit item table, and a live auction to sell to all in attendance, so be sure to bring some cash or a credit card.  If you are interested in volunteering, contact Adrianna Trevino or Mercy Aguirre, co-chairs for the event.  Don’t forget, we will be in need of dessert items for us to sell at the dinner.  Homemade or store bought desserts are welcomed. Don’t forget to sell your tickets!

 

            On Thursday, our Jazz Band students will host a clinic with world renowned Jazz Artist Arturo Sandoval in the main band hall from 9:40 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.  Since the clinic will be in the main band hall, students are not to come to Band Hall 1 or the Fine Arts hallways during lunches.  All students are to meet in Band Hall 2 for roll check.


            On Friday, the Orchestra Winds and Percussion will rehearse at 7:45 a.m. for the upcoming Full Orchestra Concert on May 23rd.  Thanks for all of your continued support of the Brandeis Band program.

 

            Here is a message from Jessica Marcha, Parade Chair – “Day parade tickets are still available.  Please call/text Jessica at 210-269-1635 to purchase your tickets. Spread the word to family and friends!  This is a fundraiser for the band so we would like to sell all 312 chairs. Please volunteer your time to help us set up parade chairs. Day Parade set up is at 7:45AM and Night Parade set up is 4:30PM. We need lots of help to set up chairs due to the limited amount of time we have.  If you have a student that is need of community service hours, bring them along!  We will gladly sign off on their community service hours.”
