HELLO SUBSCRIBERS!

Director’s Newsletter #12-18, November 11, 2018

Good evening everyone.

Happy Veteran’s Day to all of you who have served or are currently serving in our military. We appreciate your service and sacrifices you have made and hope you have enjoyed your day!

Congratulations to the following students who took part in the Region 29 Jazz Band Clinic & Concert on Friday & Saturday! Brandeis had 10 students represent the region, the most of any school. Students who participated were: Ian Aigner-Varoz, Logan Francesco, Andrew Flores, Cade Kouba, Jared Barry, Leo Filyk, Andrew Schofield, Micah Ware, Nevin Fink, and Alec Jimenez. Great job to all!

This Saturday, we had our annual South Texas Classic Drumline Festival, where we hosted 31 schools from around the Austin & San Antonio greater areas. The contest ran smoothly and was led by Dr. Chip Wood who chaired this event for us. Along with him, we had many outstanding parent & student helpers. Some of these include Mr. Neal Lamouruex, Ken Havens, Brent Bjerken, Kyle Birkenfeld, Greg Olk, Naomi Ybarra, Amanda Durdin, Joe Castillo, Jimmy Reyes, Jack Hogan, Mike Hinojosa and Guy Mullin. Please forgive us if we failed to mention anyone by name, as this would be a miss on our part, certainly not on any volunteer.

Additionally, Mr. Suarez deserves so much credit as well, as this is now the 10th year the contest was hosted at Brandeis. He works very hard in combination with our parent volunteers to keep growing this great event, which is the only one like it held in the greater San Antonio area!

We’d also like to thank Maria Mullin & her Chaperone Team for making sure our kids were safe and taken care of at yesterday’s game. It was a much different Saturday with events overlapping, but our parents and students handled it well, as always! Everything you do for our kids is on display every week. We thank you!

Tomorrow is the start of the final week of this grading period. Please be sure that your student is on top of all of their academic responsibilities, as well as their band objectives. The last day to complete objectives will be Thursday, by the end of the school day.

Tuesday is our monthly booster meeting at 7pm in the band hall. Please come out to get some information on the upcoming winter & spring events. If you have yet to, come and join our amazing parent organization, and be involved on a greater level with the Bronco Band.

On Wednesday, we begin the TMEA All State audition process at Warren High School. Some students will be auditioning on Wednesday only, Thursday only, or both days. Please be sure to check the calendar below for details. Best of luck to all students auditioning this week!

Football playoffs have begun, with our first game this Friday at Gus Stadium. We will be home against Churchill, with kick off at 7:30pm. Come out and support the Broncos!

Also, we’d like to take the time and congratulate Coach Williams and the Bronco Volleyball team on a great season! Coach, the staff, and the students worked extremely hard all year to put themselves in a position to be successful this season, and should be recognized for a job well done! We’re proud of the team and wish them the best in the future.

As always, if you have any questions, please email Jesse.Cuellar@nisd.net

Have a great week and GO BRONCOS!
