Director’s Newsletter #1-19, August 25, 2019 Good morning! We are officially back to school and we are about to hit the ground running. As many of you heard at our Summer Band Concert, we have a new sponsor. A special thank you to Great Adventures Inc. for being a Gold Level Sponsor! BAND HANDBOOK 19-20 With the start of school happening, all students and parents need to read the band handbook. Included in the hand book is a new media release form as well. All students and parents must sign and return the acknowledgement form and media release form by Tuesday, August 27th. You can find a copy of the band handbook and forms HERE. SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT On Monday & Tuesday, the afternoon temperature is expected to hit above 100º. While we cannot adjust Monday's afternoon schedule to ensure our campus first day procedures are properly followed, we will move Tuesday's afternoon rehearsal to the morning this week. For tomorrow, please be sure your student has all of their required supplies including appropriate outdoor items. You can help prepare your student for tomorrow by reminding them to hydrate throughout today. OPEN HOUSE Wednesday will be our annual Open House. The winds and percussion will be performing to welcome parents and students into the auditorium. These students will need to report to the band hall at 5:30 pm and will be done by 6:00 pm. Student can wear any school appropriate clothing for this performance and will be able to attend Open House immediately following. SHOW SHIRTS

Show shirts are expected to be in this week. The shirt will be created with a 50/50 (soft cotton) Heather Navy t-shirt. Shirts are $15 for sizes up to XL, and $17 for XXL and XXXL. You can place your order for these shirts HERE!

GAME DAY PROTOCOL

With our first game day approaching on Friday, please take time to read over our GAME DAY PROTOCOL. This will give parents an idea of our process as we move from the academic school day through the football game.

SUMMER BAND CONCERT Lastly, thank you to everyone who came out to the Summer Band Concert on Thursday evening. We hope you are excited about our 2019 production and look forward to seeing you at the game on Friday.
