The Brandeis Jazz program had an extremely successful day this past Saturday at the TMEA Region Jazz Auditions. The two Region Jazz ensembles will have a total of 13 Broncos, representing more than 30% of all selected chairs! Once again, the Brandeis Jazz program leads all schools in chairs earned in all of Region 29. Students earning chairs in the 2nd Jazz Ensemble are:

Carly Amaya - Drumset
Jonathan Bjerken - Trumpet
Leo Filyk - Trumpet
Ian Hoggard - Bass Trombone
Caelan Matthews - Tenor Trombone
Brayton Moschenross - Tenor Trombone
Micah Ware - Guitar

The following students will be apart of the 1st Jazz Ensemble and will be recording a second audition for entry into the TMEA Texas All State Jazz Ensemble in October:

Nevin Fink - Piano
Jonathan Flores - Tenor Trombone
Logan Francesco - Trumpet
Alec Jimenez - Drumset
Fernando Pena - Drumset
Andrew Schofield - Trumpet

A huge congratulations to these students for their accomplishments. I'd also like to congratulate our leader in Jazz studies, Mr. Cuellar! Thank you for your dedication to our students and keeping this very important music curriculum alive and well at Brandeis! This would not happen without your time and efforts!

I'd like to thank and welcome our newest sponsor of the Brandeis Band program, Hulme Ortho! Dr. Hulme has generously donated to our program, becoming our 5th sponsor.

Hulme Ortho has 3 locations across the San Antonio area, and specializes in orthodontics and dental orthopedics, helping recreate smiles with the most advanced technology.

"The vision of Hulme Orthodontics is to provide extraordinary orthodontic care in a comfortable and relaxed environment while demonstrating personal and caring interest for each patient. We strive for excellence by continually improving, working together as a team, and using technologically advanced treatment systems."

You can find out more about Hulme Ortho HERE.

Thank you again for your generosity and support of the students in the Bronco Band!

We are still in need of a few more parents who would like to be a part of the Brandeis Corporate team. The role is primarily creating contact for our Corporate Liaison to then approach for the possibility of program sponsorship. If you are have more questions about this role or are interested, please email Chip Thompson at

Thank you again for all of the great help from our parent chaperones & roadies! We appreciate you taking the time to be with our kids and make sure they're safe and ready to have a great performance!

Yesterday, our prop crew was at it again getting all of our production items ready to go! Thank you to Naomy Ybarra, Jennifer Tijerina, Earl Amaya, Ken Havens, Brent Bjerken, Jack Hogan, George Elliot, and Jerry & Michelle Crittenden for all of their time and hard work.

A special thank you to Brent Bjerken who took time off from work Friday, to help build 6 solo platforms for our soloists in the show! We appreciate you so much, Mr. Bjerken!
