FALL DINNER

Our annual fall dinner is this Tuesday, October 29th in the Brandeis cafe! The Garcia, Stinson and Brandeis Bands will all be performing at this great event. Plates will be served starting at 5 pm. We will have quite a few items and baskets to bid on in our silent auction. If your student still has tickets and/or money out, this needs to be turned in immediately for food accounting purposes. By not turning in tickets, we run the risk of not having enough food to fulfill our sales. We are always looking for volunteers to help so if you are available, please sign up on the link sent out in an email late last week.

I’d like to thank our main sponsor, Las Palapas on Hausman for providing all of the food for this event, and Raising Cane’s for providing iced tea!

INSTRUMENT UPGRADE

Hillje Music is having their annual Hillje Horn Showcase on Friday, November 15th from 3 pm - 7 pm, and Saturday, November 16th from 10 am - 3 pm. This is a chance for your student to take their mouthpiece and try out upper level instruments and inquire about purchase. If your student is currently playing their instrument that was purchased for them as a beginner, you may want to consider an upgrade or upgrading portions (mouthpieces, etc) of their instrument. While student physical fundamentals can never be replaced, playing on a quality instrument is extremely important to your student’s level of achievement. The event will be held at the Hillje Northwoods location. Please check out the flyer below for more information.

BLACKOUT PEP RALLY

The blackout pep rally will be on Friday, November 1st in the auditorium. If you plan on attending as a spectator, please arrive early (7 am) to wait in line. Once the auditorium is at capacity, no additional people will be allowed entry. Backpacks will not be allowed into the auditorium during the pep rally so please plan accordingly.

BRONCOS OF THE WEEK

My apologies to students and parents. I realized that I’ve accidentally left our Broncos of the Week off for the past few weeks. I’d like to take time to congratulate those students who earn these honors over the past 3 weeks.

BAND PANORAMIC

The program will have their annual panoramic photo taken on Thursday, October 31st at 7 am. Guard and Field Dance students will need to wear their full show costume. Wind and percussion students will wear our long sleeve marching band uniforms. Hair and make up are allowed to be done for this picture. You can find an order for for pictures, HERE. If you wish to order a picture, please turn this into me with payment by Thursday, October 31st.

COLLEGE NIGHT

This Tuesday, October 29th is College Night at UTSA. Times are tiered based on campus. Brandeis time is 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Please arrive early as parking is usually an issue.
