Director's Newsletter #17 - 18, December 16

Director’s Newsletter #17-18, December 16, 2018

Good afternoon everyone!

Tomorrow night, our wonderful Jazz Ensemble & Combo will be performing in the auditorium at 7 pm. Come out and hear some great music performed by our students, led by the great teaching of Mr. Cuellar! This will conclude our music performances for 2018, so be sure to come and support!

This week, some of our Leadership Team will be participating in elementary school petting zoos, helping Mr. Melendez from Stinson Middle School recruit some future Bronco Band Members. We will be visiting Steubing, Wanke, and Scobee elementary schools. In early 2019, we will conclude our petting zoos for the school year visiting elementary schools feeding into Garcia Middle School. If you have a student in 5th grade or know someone who does, be sure to let them know of the great opportunity to join our Bronco Band Family, starting with the Stinson and Garcia band programs.

Wednesday, December 19th, will be the last day of the year to purchase Bronco spirit items from the booster program. They will be set up during all lunches. Come grab some great gifts that show your Bronco pride!

As we head into winter break, we are cleaning up and organizing the band hall. This includes taking down all posters from our Marching Uil band hall decorating event. Students have until Wednesday to take these posters home. If you’d like to keep yours, be sure to let your student know to grab theirs.

Our boosters are still taking orders for this year’s “I’m With The Band” Orange Chuck shirts until the 31st of December. Shirts are $10 and will be delivered in January.

Tickets for the Battle of Flowers Band Festival are also on sale via the boosters until the 23rd of December. Tickets are $12. The event will be at Alamo Stadium on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

Both items can be purchased online at https://www.brandeisband.org/shop

I’d also like to thank everyone for coming out to our annual Winter Concert this past Wednesday and Full Orchestra performance on Thursday. It has been a full 2018 so we hope you enjoyed spending a couple of evenings with us to spread some holiday cheer!

Since this will be the last newsletter of 2018, allow me to take some time and wish everyone a safe and Happy Holiday, and a wonderful New Year. I hope everyone has been blessed in 2018 and take time to reflect on how fortunate we are. Of course with that, here is to an even better 2019 full of great health and love for all!

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at Daniel.Asgari@nisd.net

GO BRONCOS!

Mr. Asgari
