CORPORATE LIAISON AT WORK

A huge thank you to Chip Thompson who took on the role of Corporate Liaison last Spring. Over the summer, he has been working on ideas to get the Bronco Band corporate sponsorship and he has signed our first sponsor! Las Palapas became a Diamond Level Sponsor and donated $1,000 to the program! This is in addition to the many things Las Palapas contributes to our program throughout the year.

Thank you to Las Palapas for your sponsorship, and to Mr. Thompson for being a leader in our program!

Please take a look at the infographic below that Mr. Thompson developed and share this information with anyone you think who may be interested in sponsoring our program!

PROP BUILDING CREW

Special shout out to our prop building crew who worked on Saturday morning to continue the build of our props for this year's production. Big thanks to Michelle Crittenden, Jerry Crittenden, Ken Havens, George Elliot, Christina Nalls, Jimmy Reyes, Chip Thompson, Jasmine Tijerina, Jennifer Tijerina, and Naomy Ybarra for your dedication to our program.

SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT & SHIRTS

On Friday, we discussed the official title of our show and it's concept to our students. After many concepts, Mr. Jude Boughton, one of our program coordinators developed the idea of creating an art gallery on the field, and recreating the works of the late Ellsworth Kelly. During Ellsworth Kelly's life he created a few volumes of his work, one of them named, Line Form Color, with some of his most famous works. We will be taking some of these works and putting a Brandeis stamp on the field with them in multiple ways. Below is one of Kelly's works that we have spun into our show shirt for the 2019 production, Ellsworth Kelly: Line Form Color.

The shirt will be created with a 50/50 (soft cotton) Heather Navy t-shirt. Shirts are $15 for sizes up to XL, and $17 for XXL and XXXL. Pre order your shirt and show your support for the program. You can place your order for these shirts HERE!

BRONCO CARD CONTEST

At band registration, students were handed 10 Bronco Cards to sell as our first fundraiser is underway. The students have voted on having a section contest, where the section with the highest average of cards sold per student, will win a section party! This contest will conclude on Thursday evening, at the end of our Summer Band Concert. Students who have sold all 10 of their cards and would like to get more, can come see me in the band office. Monies for cards must be turned in by that evening to count towards the contest.

If you would like to purchase an individual card, I have some available in the band office for $10. There are some great merchants on the card this year and will easily pay itself off in a few visits.

SA LIVE GO PUBLIC

On Wednesday, Meet the Broncos will be taking place in the Brandeis Auditorium. THE BAND WILL NOT BE PERFORMING AT MEET THE BRONCOS. Following Meet the Broncos, Brandeis will be hosting KSAT 12 to have their SA Live Go Public show at 6:30 pm in the Brandeis Gym. This is where the band will be performing. The gym has limited seating so I suggest you show up early to get in to the event. Once the gym reaches capacity, no one will be allowed entry. To maximize gym space, no backpacks or gym bags of any kind will be allowed inside. The event is free.

Students will need to bring their band shirt and blue jeans with them on Wednesday to rehearsal, to change into during the dinner break. Our boosters will have a dinner meal for sale, just like summer band concessions, and students will eat from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm at school. Students are not allowed to leave campus during this time so please send them with an additional meal or money to purchase food. Chucks or athletic shoes are good to wear for this event.

SUMMER BAND CONCERT

On Thursday we will have our annual Summer Band Concert on the band pad at 7 pm! This will be a preview of our marching show, our feature twirler, and the presentation of senior sashes. The event is free! Bring your lawn chairs, water jugs, and join us for a fun evening of music. That day, Raising Cane's at the RIM shopping center is hosting a Brandeis Band Spirit Night! They will be donating a portion of all sales from 5 pm - 10 pm that day to the program. Before heading to the band pad for the Summer Band Concert, pick up some Raising Cane's, or head over to the location following the performance! A flyer will be sent out tomorrow with a few more details. Thank you to Raising Cane's for supporting the Bronco Band!

TEACHER BREAKFAST SIGN UP

This Wednesday, our boosters will be sponsoring breakfast for the great admin, teachers, and staff of Brandeis HS. We are still in need of a few donations and help serving. If you are available, please consider contributing to this important event. You can sign up HERE. If you have specific questions regarding the event, please contact our Hospitality Chair, Mrs. Bernadette Gorham HERE.

CUSTOM MARCHING BAND TOP

Custom band tops will be delivered this week. If you have not yet paid for your student's top, they will not receive this item. Please pay for your student's top online HERE.

BENEFIT OF MUSIC LESSONS

Lastly, I came across this great article on how music lessons benefit high school students in science, math and english. Take time to READ THIS and if you haven't yet, please consider getting your student on lessons. They will not only individually benefit, but their contribution to the level of the program will also increase greatly.

Please be sure to check the calendar below for this week’s events and as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at Daniel.Asgari@nisd.net.
