The two Region Jazz ensembles will have a total of 13 Broncos, representing more than 30% of all selected chairs! Once again, the Brandeis Jazz program leads all schools in chairs earned in all of Region 29. Students earning chairs in the 2nd Jazz Ensemble are: Carly Amaya - Drumset Jonathan Bjerken - Trumpet Leo Filyk - Trumpet Ian Hoggard - Bass Trombone Caelan Matthews - Tenor Trombone Brayton Moschenross - Tenor Trombone Micah Ware - Guitar The following students will be apart of the 1st Jazz Ensemble and will be recording a second audition for entry into the TMEA Texas All State Jazz Ensemble in October: Nevin Fink - Piano Jonathan Flores - Tenor Trombone Logan Francesco - Trumpet Alec Jimenez - Drumset Fernando Pena - Drumset Andrew Schofield - Trumpet A huge congratulations to these students for their accomplishments. I'd also like to congratulate our leader in Jazz studies, Mr. Cuellar! Thank you for your dedication to our students and keeping this very important music curriculum alive and well at Brandeis! This would not happen without your time and efforts! NEW SPONSOR I'd like to thank and welcome our newest sponsor of the Brandeis Band program, Hulme Ortho! Dr. Hulme has generously donated to our program, becoming our 5th sponsor.

CORPORATE TEAM We are still in need of a few more parents who would like to be a part of the Brandeis Corporate team. The role is primarily creating contact for our Corporate Liaison to then approach for the possibility of program sponsorship. Yesterday, our prop crew was at it again getting all of our production items ready to go! Thank you to Naomy Ybarra, Jennifer Tijerina, Earl Amaya, Ken Havens, Brent Bjerken, Jack Hogan, George Elliot, and Jerry & Michelle Crittenden for all of their time and hard work. A special thank you to Brent Bjerken who took time off from work Friday, to help build 6 solo platforms for our soloists in the show! We appreciate you so much, Mr. Bjerken! Band Member of the Week: Sophia Pinon Field Dance Member of the Week: Allie Blom Freshman of the Week: Cameron Taqi Guard Member of the Week: Kennedy Whitacre Leader of the Week: Sam Blanton Section of the Week: Mellophones THUNDER IN THE HILLS - DRIPPING SPRINGS DRUMLINE CONTEST This Saturday, our Bronco Drumline & Front Ensemble will be competing at Thunder In The Hills, the Dripping Springs Drumline Contest. This is a very competitive and early contest that will feature some of the most outstanding percussion programs in the state. The percussion section will perform at 5:30 pm. Students will need to report at 9 am for set up, run through, load and departure. The contest is held at the Dripping Springs High School stadium and is open to the public. Get all information about the contest HERE. Best of luck to Bronco Beats! BRONCO CARDS So far, the Bronco Band & partners have sold more than 2,400 Bronco cards! However, we are not done yet. With around 700 cards still checked out to students, please double check that your student has turned in his/her money to the band office. We still have some cards left if you need more. Help us make this our best Bronco Card fundraiser yet! CHIPOTLE NIGHT Tomorrow from 5 pm - 9 pm, come by Chipotle at Bandera Pointe, grab dinner, and support the Bronco Band! All you have to do is show this flyer when you order or at the time of pick up (to-go orders count too) and the band will receive 33% of your purchase as a donation! Special thank you to Mrs. Letty Reyes for putting this great event together!

COLOR GUARD/FIELD DANCE PICTURE DAY With guard and field dance costumes in, we will be having picture day for them on Friday, September 20, 2019. This will run from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm in Band Hall 1. Any wind or percussion student that missed pictures, may use this day as a make up day to take their photos as well. You can find the picture order form HERE. Be sure to bring it with you, along with payment, on the day of pictures. STADIUM REHEARSAL As sent out last week, we are having a stadium rehearsal/clinic at Farris Stadium, with Mr. Spicer on Tuesday from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. If your student does NOT play tuba or is a percussionist, they may be picked up from the stadium that evening. Tubas and percussionists will need to return to school to help unload the trailers. If it rains, our back up plan is to have rehearsal at school from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA As sent out in a special announcement, tickets to our community for the Glenn Miller Orchestra are now available for purchase and selling! This world famous group plays 300 dates a year and sold out the Tobin Center last year. THIS EVENT WILL SELL OUT! If you are interested, you can grab tickets HERE. DISNEY PAYMENT #3 Payment #3 for our Disney World trip is now due. Please make your payment online HERE. HOMECOMING WEEK THEMES It's Homecoming Week!! We encourage all of the students to participate in the daily themes with their friends and peers across the rest of our great campus. Monday - Crocs & Socks Tuesday - Twin Day Wednesday - Movie Day Thursday - Spirit Day Friday - Flashback Friday Please remember that all students must still follow proper dress code for these days as well. PROGRESS REPORTS The first run of progress reports go out tomorrow! Please be sure to ask you student for these to review their grades so far. Remember that all students must be passing all classes with a 70 or above at the time of report cards distribution to continue participating in the marching band. If you student needs help, have them reach out to their peers listed on the Bronco Band tutoring list as well as their teachers. SMUGMUG 2019-20 SmugMug is up and running for the 2019-20 school year!
