Director’s Newsletter - Thanksgiving 2019 - November 24, 2019 Good afternoon! Before getting into the newsletter, I'd like to take time to wish everyone a very safe and memorable Thanksgiving. I hope we all make time to take a moment this week to slow down and remember all of the good we each have to be thankful for. Wednesday and Thursday were the Region 29 All District auditions. This year the Bronco Band had 60 students earn All District honors, surpassing last year's number of 54. The 60 students who have advanced to the Region Round will audition for All Region and All Area on Saturday, December 7th at Stevens HS. Once again, this is the most of all schools in Region 29. This is only happening due to the consistent work of those students. We are very proud of this first step you have taken in the All State process. This is a freshman only audition. Any freshman who advanced to the All Region round last week will also audition in the Freshman Region audition. We expect check in for Friday to be 5:00 pm and Saturday to be 8 am. I will have more details on these contests in next week's newsletter OPEN BAND HALL In order to help students prepare for the All Region/All Area/Freshman Region Audition, as well as any student who wishes to practice, we will be having open band hall tomorrow and Tuesday from 9 am - 1 pm. Students are encouraged to sign up for 15 minute help sessions available HERE. I ask that students sign up for 1 time slot per day. Should a time slot be available the day of their appointment, they are more than welcome to utilize additional slots. Extra slots are on a first come first serve basis. FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS ROUND 3 Congratulations to the Bronco Football team on their victory over Clemens on Friday. The team has advanced to Round 3 which will take place in Laredo, TX. Game details are as follows: Brandeis vs. Edinburg Vela (We are Home) Site: Bill Johnson Student Activity Center 5208 Santa Claudia Lane Laredo, TX 78043 Pre sale ticket sales are tomorrow (Monday) & Tuesday, 11:30 am - 2:30 pm at the Brandeis HS front desk. Pre sale ticket prices - Students: $4, Adults: $9 At the gate ticket prices: $10 Band, Guard and Field Dance students will need to report to the band hall at 7 am on Friday. They should arrive in their alternate uniforms, band/dance shoes and tall solid black socks. Please make sure that students bring all items necessary for the game (I.e. instruments, guard/field dance uniforms, etc) and that students eat breakfast prior to arriving at BHS. Students will be given 2 meals on this trip. Below is the itinerary the band will be following on Friday: Report Time/Run Through: 7 am Load Busses: 8 am Depart BHS: 8:30 am Arrive at game site: 11:30 am Lunch: 11:30 am Change into uniform: 12:30 pm Warm Up: 1 pm Game Time: 2 pm Est. game end/change out of uniform: 5 pm Load busses with meal: 5:30 pm Arrive at BHS: 8:30 pm DISNEY TICKETS & FAST PASSES
Disney tickets & hotel confirmations have come in. They will be organized and ready to distribute in the next day or two. You will need both your ticket and hotel confirmation number to begin scheduling fast passes. Tickets and hotel confirmation numbers will be given to each person going on the trip after their trip has been paid in full. No exceptions will be made. Please visit the online store to make any outstanding payments on your trip.
